WIP DUMP

Hello,

Just thought I'd drop this post before I'm working on a freelance work later tonight. This is just a bunch of unfinished illustrations / sketches that I've done, and never got around to finish them. I'll probably finish them before the year ends -- if I feel like it. Okay I'll be a little more realistic here: I'll probably finish about two or three of these WIP's. We'll see about that. 

Some of these WIP's were done in Paint Tool Sai, and some in Photoshop.

(I'm writing this post while listening to The Used's live version of 'On My Own'. I haven't listened to them in a while and that's what I'm going to do for the rest of the night)

NEW BLOG HEADER

Hello!

It's 4.30 a.m. now, and I'm supposed to be sleeping tonight but I couldn't, thanks to the cup of coffee that I had a few hours ago. So I spent the night awake, browsing through random blogs, and decided to check my blog out too. And I just had a sudden desire to give this blog's header a makeover.

I'm not sure how I feel about it actually. I like it...kind of. But I don't know whether I love it like "yes! This is it!" kind of love yet but I'm just going to put it up as the header for now anyway. I'll probably hate it tomorrow, because you know, whatever 'great' idea that you think you may have at 3 a.m. is probably the worst idea ever. So we'll see about that tomorrow. Okay that's all for now. 

P/s : I'm probably the only person who reads this blog. Sigh, whatevs. I love uploading things in here (although I know I don't do it as often as I should), so yeah, I'm just going to keep doing that. I do things because I love doing it, not because I want someone else to love it when I'm doing it. Do you get what I mean? (I sense a denial here) Okay I'm out now, and I'm going to go catch some zzz's now -- I have a lot on my plate tomorrow. So goodbye and good night.

Pink & Pre-Raya

I don't have my laptop with me right now, so I can't really post anything from there yet. But this will do for now. Indigo Locks

This is my fourth attempt on using Paint Tool SAI. I only just started using it yesterday. I've been watching/reading tutorials regarding SAI since yesterday, and I'm still trying to get the hang of it. I'm still experimenting with things and trying out the tools in it here and there. But let me tell you, this software is AWESOME! ^v^

But meh, I still suck at it. Have to practice more and more and more. And more. Yep. D:

And oh, I'm gonna just ignore the fact that this is my first post for 2012. Mehhhhh. >_<

Because every now and then we all need that self-motivation; you know, THAT push for us to go further and to be strong and continue fighting our battle in our own battlefield. So jyeah, ganbatte Mye! You can do this! Yosh! >:D

Sushi

I did this a few days ago, because I had a sudden craving for sushi. And I still haven't got my sushi yet. Tsk. :(

Oh on a side note, Syasya is coming down to town tomorrow! And she will be staying here with me until Friday! Woohoo! I'm so exciteddddd. Because you see, I haven't seen her for more than two months. And I've missed her so badly. Yayy, can't wait to parrrtayyy! XD

And of course, I can't wait to get my sushi fix while she's here. Yums! :9 And oh, also my movies and shopping trips fixes too! Whee! Just a few more hours to go!

So after class today, I was playing around and experimenting again, using the same drawing that I posted in my previous post this morning. Yeah, you can tell that I was bored huh? -__- You can see the original black and white drawing here (the 4th drawing).

I did a little experiment on colouring/rendering my old doodle with Photoshop last night. Well, I always use Photoshop to colour/render my Interior Design Studio's drawings, so why not my doodles right? And yeah it was fun fun fun! I want to do this more often, hik.

Well, of course I'm not the first person to do this. A lot of artist/designers colour and render their illustrations with Photoshop, that's for sure. But this is just my first attempt, that's all it's all about.

I have actually posted this doodle on an old post, it's a black and white version. Take a look HERE (the 4th image).

p/s : I reaaaally need to scan my recent drawings and illustrations soon. It has been a long overdue, hasn't it?

Abah's Birthday Card; Part 1

So my dad's birthday was on the 1st of June, which is yesterday. Every year I would make him a handmade card, with papers and other materials that I could get my hands on. I also make handmade cards for my mom's birthday, my siblings' birthdays, Mother's & Father's Day, and all other occasions every year; without failing. (Okay, I may have amplified the "without failing" part a little. Of course, sometimes I do forget to make them and I would just buy the readymade ones instead. :p).

But recently, when I was about to make a handmade card for dad's birthday using the traditional method that I have always been using, a friend sort of sparked this genius idea for me : to make a card using Photoshop. I was like, why haven't I thought of that? That is an absolutely genius idea! (Please note that I had never done any greeting cards digitally before this. Don't ask me why). So I decided to combine two methods to make the card -- 50% using Photoshop & 50% using traditional-handmade method.

This is the front cover (the right side) and the back page (the left side) of the card. I am actually very pleased with the outcome. I had a blast making this card using Photoshop! I should use this method more often. I could actually make money out of this! Hmm. 

You're probably wondering "So which part of the card that uses the traditional-handmade method?" Well that would be used for the inside of this card! I would do pop-ups and such. But they're not ready yet. Maybe I'll post the finished version later. Mayyyyybe. :p

Haha so I'm changing the header again; just because designing and making new headers is always fun. ;)

Grand Opening?

FINALLY! I've finally decided to change the concept of this blog; from a doodle/sketch blog to a -- wait for it, wait for it -- FASHION & ILLUSTRATION BLOG! *fireworks*

Hence, the new name and URL of the blog; from MYEDOODLES to MYESARAHHALIM. *second fireworks*

SO this blog will be about fashion & illustration, where the illustrations I post in here will be mostly about fashion. And I'll try to post stuff regarding fashion, styles, trends, tips and all sorts of things related to fashion. Not to fret though, because I'll post the illustrations more than the images. ;)

This is the current header/banner for this blog. It's just a simple one I made in Photoshop CS3. Maybe this is just temporary. I'll make a new, permanent, real one when I feel inspired.

These are some of the drawings I did back in high school.

I miss the amount of time I used to spend on drawing and sketching back in those days. I used to draw at least five to ten drawings a day, everyday after school.

Now that I'm just a bit way too busy with uni -- with the hefty amount of projects and assignments and such, and also with my social life -- I don't really have much time to produce personal artworks anymore. Which is really really sad. :(

But I still try my best to find some time to produce personal artworks anyway. I would DIE if I don't produce any. :)

I Can't Wait for My Sister's Homecoming!

My sister Naddy is studying in Australia and I haven't seen her for about a year and I've missed her so much. She's my best friend in the whole wide world and we've been best friends for 20 years! I mean, seriously, have you been best friends with someone for 20 years? Other than her, I haven't been best friends with anyone that long.

I miss going out with her where she would drag me to every shop she sees (this annoys me sometimes but oddly enough, this is what I miss so much about her), I miss going out with her where we would just window shop and buy nothing, I miss her contagious laugh, I miss her impossibly long eyelashes and her beautiful supermassive no-eyelids eyes, I miss her clumsiness, I miss listening to her stories, I just miss herrrrr! Sobs. :'(

She'll be home this Sunday, and she'll be here for two weeks. I swear we're going to cry and scream and be all emotional at the airport this weekend! Haha I'm so exciteddddd. :'D

So, this is a drawing I made of her. When I was drawing this, all I wanted was to make her smile whenever she sees this and make her miss me a little bit less. :)

But I Miss You

This is a painting I did for one of my uni projects. It's about the mixed feelings experienced by a pair of lovers who have broken up; where they are actually still in love with each other. They feel that the break up is the best solution, but on the other hand they kind of regret breaking up the relationship because they are missing each other.
